Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the Department of Employee Relations (DER) to amend the current contract with Froedtert Workforce Health (WFH) to include FastCare clinic services.

Analysis
This resolution approves an amendment of the current Froedtert Workforce Health contract to provide a pilot program with Froedtert FastCare clinic services for City of Milwaukee employees, spouses and dependents over age 6 who are covered under the City’s health insurance. The City’s Workplace Clinic is an important resource for employees and spouses providing convenient and immediate access to high quality medical care focused on prevention, wellness, early intervention and assistance with chronic condition management. In addition to being a benefit for our employees, the clinic also provides a significant return on investment by offsetting claim costs that employees and the City would incur if services were sought from the emergency room, urgent care or other healthcare providers.

Whereas, Common Council File Number 170126 authorized a contract extension with Froedtert Workforce Health through December 31, 2019 to provide the City’s Wellness Programming and onsite clinic services; and

Whereas, The City has maximized current workplace clinic space in the Zeidler Municipal Building and has been searching to expand workplace clinic services; and

Whereas, An option is available through Froedtert Workforce Health for immediate expansion of clinic services; and

Whereas, The contract amendment will allow city employees, spouses and dependents age 6 and older who are covered under the City’s health insurance to utilize Froedtert FastCare clinics at specified locations in the Milwaukee area; and

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee will pay a per visit cost of $59 and employees will not be charged for approved services at the visit similar to the City’s workplace clinic; now, theref...
