4/2/20180 HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION

Minutes note: Mr. Tim Askin said the proposal is to remove the existing awnings and light fixtures over the awnings, bring the entrance area flush and match the windows with the existing windows. None of the original 1935 design remains on the ground floor. Staff presented two alternatives designs as part of its staff report. The sashes and doors should look like the original sashes and doors as much as possible. Dan Kovaro - Rinka Chung Architecture - the scope of their work only includes the first floor. The intent of the exterior work is to open the windows onto the street and remove one of the two doors that lead into the tenant space. Liz Collins - NLG Commercial - represents the owners Brian McKinley - tenant Jeremy Morrison - NLG Commercial Mr. Jarosz said exterior modifications aren't required, but with a little more thought, it can look much better. Mr. Kovaro said there is a budget and there is no intent to do a dramatic change to the facade. Ms. Keating Kahn moved, seconded by Mr. Jaroz, to deny the application.
