Title

Resolution authorizing the installation of a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Burnham Street and West Forest Home Avenue in the 12th Aldermanic District.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Burnham Street and West Forest Home Avenue in the 12th Aldermanic District with funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund at an estimated cost of $100,000.

 

Body

Whereas, The traffic volumes at the intersection of West Burnham Street to West Forest Home Avenue exceed federal warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for the installation of a traffic control signal; and

 

Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of West Burnham Street and West Forest Home Avenue will provide for a better exchange of right-of-way over the existing all-way stop control; and

 

Whereas, The estimated cost of the installation of a traffic control signal is $100,000, and is included in the Department of Public Works traffic signal capital fund approved under Common Council File Number 161187; and

 

Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at West Burnham Street and West Forest Home Avenue is scheduled for summer 2018; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Burnham Street and West Forest Home Avenue using funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund.
