Title

Resolution approving a 2018 Three-Year Statement of Intentions for the Port of Milwaukee.

Analysis

The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation, in accords with State Rules, requires a Statement of Project Intentions from local units of government intending to apply for State aid for harbor-related work of benefit to commercial transportation within the next three years.

BODY

Whereas, The Three-Year Harbor Statement of Intentions attached to this resolution describes proposed improvements which are in the best interest of the Port of Milwaukee, City of  Milwaukee; and

Whereas, Port Milwaukee has carefully reviewed the estimated project costs, funding sources, physical location and alternatives to the proposed project; and

Whereas, This Three-Year Harbor Statement of intentions is used by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for planning purposes only and is not a petition for State aid; and

Whereas, The Board of Harbor Commissioners at its meeting of February 8, 2018 acted by vote of the Board to approve the Three-Year Statement of Intentions; and

Whereas, All projects included in the three-year program are contingent upon future Common Council approval of each project prior to proceeding with the project; now therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said Common Council hereby ratifies and approves the 2018 Three-Year Statement of Intentions by and through its Board of Harbor Commissioners.
