Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File #170760 relative to the acceptance and funding of the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity - Building and Strengthening Epidemiology, Laboratory and Health Information Systems Capacity Grant from the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health in the amount of $143,459. The purpose of the grant is to provide public health testing and consultative services to the DHS/DPH and those local units of government authorized by DHS/DPH.

Body
Whereas, Common Council File #170760 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the ELC grant from the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health to provide public health testing and consultative services; and

Whereas, The total expenditures for this program has been increased by $143,459 to a total of $502,923 of which all is provided

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 08/01/17 to 07/31/2018 would now cost $502,923 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the DHS/DPH is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2018 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Grant:
