Title:
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a 2017/18 Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a continuation of a Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Grant project from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) through the Wisconsin Department of Justice- Division of Criminal Investigation, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program in the amount of $40,000.00. The purpose of the project is a coordinated effort to enhance the Wisconsin ICAC program and affiliate membership effectiveness in responding to online enticement of children by sexual predators.

Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), for an Internet Crimes Against Children Grant; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/1/2017 to 9/30/2018 would cost $40,000.00, of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2017 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled “Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Grant”:
