Substitute resolution relating to the attendance of the members of the Community and Economic Development Committee at events sponsored by the National League of Cities.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the members of the Community and Economic Development Committee to attend meetings and to travel on official National League of Cities business with funding for costs expended from the Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account.

Whereas, The National League of Cities develops policy positions and advocates on behalf of the nation’s cities on national issues involving municipal government, including community development block grants, housing, and economic development; and
Whereas, It is a significant honor for the City of Milwaukee to have members of the Common Council attend these important meetings and events to represent the interest of cities throughout the nation; and
Whereas, Participation in National League of Cities meetings and events will require the expenditure of funds for travel, lodging, and related expenses; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council authorizes the participation of members of the Community and Economic Development Committee to attend National League of Cities meetings and events; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk is authorized to expend funds from the Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account (Account Number 0001-1310-S123-006300) for travel, lodging, and per diem expenses related to the Community and Economic Development Committee members’ attendance and participation at meetings of the National League of Cities and related official National League of Cities business in their roles as a members of the Community and Economic Development Committee.
