Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2018 offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

Department of City Development, City Treasurer, Election Commission, Fire and Police Commission, Department of Public Works

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170681 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Following “Department of City Development, Public Housing Programs Decision Unit”, delete the section “Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee” in its entirety including all positions under the section.

 

Under “City Treasurer, Customer Services Division”, delete designation “(Y)” from two positions of “Customer Service Representative II (0.5 FTE) (Y)”.

 

Under “Investments and Financial Services Division”, delete designation “(Y)” from one position of “Accounting Assistant I (0.5 FTE) (Y)”.

 

Under “Fire and Police Commission”, add designation “(Y)” to one position of “Emergency Communications and Policy Director”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works - Infrastructure Services Division, Administration & Central Services Decision Unit, Business Operations”, delete one position of “Management and Accounting Manager” and add one position of “Management and Accounting Officer”.

 

Under “Bridges & Buildings Decision Unit, Bridge Operations/Maintenance”, delete one position of “Painter Leadworker, House”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works - Operations Division, General Office”, delete one position of “Program Assistant II”.

 

Under “Sanitation Section”, amend footnote “(A)” to read:

 

“(A)                     These City Laborer positions in Sanitation Section, Field Operations to remain year-round positions held by the listed incumbents. Positions to become seasonal when vacant. Incumbents: George Finch Jr., Michael Brahm and James Kendzierski.”

 

Under “Department of Public Works - Water Works, Business Organization, Administration”, remove one position of “Human Resources Analyst”.

 

Under “Plants, North Organization”, amend the division “Linwood and North Production” to read “Linnwood & North Water Production”.

 

Under “Linnwood & North Water Production”, add one position of “Water Plant Operations Manager (X)”, delete nine positions of “Machine Repair Person”, and add eight  positions of “Machine Repairperson”.

 

Under “Plants, South Organization, Howard & South Water Production”, delete one position of “Water Plant Operations Manager (X)” and add one position of “Machine Repairperson”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170681 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2018 - December 31, 2017):

 

Under “Election Commission, General Office”, delete two positions of “Program Assistant I”, delete one position of “Program Assistant 1 - Bilingual”, add two positions of “Election Services Coordinator”, and add one position of “Election Services Coordinator - Bilingual”.

 

Under “Registration Division”, delete one position of “Election Services Coordinator (X)” and add one position of “Election Services Field Coordinator (X)”.

 

Under “Election Service Division”, delete two positions of “Election Services Specialist”, add one position of “Election Services Office Administrator”, and add one position of “Election Services Administrator”.

 

Part 3.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 4.  The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2018 (December 31, 2017).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 5.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
