Analysis
This resolution designates January 27, 2018, as MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit Day in the City of Milwaukee. The MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit is held to support the growth of local entrepreneurship and help innovators stimulate economic development, neighborhood reinvestment and job creation. The event will take place at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Elementary School and will include workshops to educate budding entrepreneurs about the resources available to help them become successful in their business endeavors.

Whereas, The purpose of the MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit Day is to support the growth of local entrepreneurship and help innovators stimulate economic development, neighborhood reinvestment and job creation; and
Whereas, The MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit has successfully connected aspiring entrepreneurs with valuable city resources, business startup workshops and mentorship from established business professionals for 7 consecutive years; and
Whereas, Various local businesses, business organizations, educational institutions, State and Federal agencies and the City of Milwaukee participate in the MKE Business NOW Entrepreneurship Summit each year, including the Department of Neighborhood Services, the Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation and the Office of Small Business Development; and
Whereas, The MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit will be held on January 27, 2018, at the Dr. Martin Luther King , Jr., Elementary School; and
Whereas, The MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit will include workshops to educate budding entrepreneurs about the resources available in Milwaukee to help them become successful in their business endeavors; and
Whereas, Supporting Milwaukee’s diverse and varied entrepreneurs through the MKE Business Now Summit exemplifies a commitment to economic development and innovation and creates an environment where established and new businesses can prosper together; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council designates January 27, 2018, as MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit Day to recognize the importance of supporting Milwaukee innovators and small business owners; and, be it
Further Resolved, That City departments are directed to assist as necessary to make the annual MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit Day program a successful event.
