Analysis
This resolution would approve a Lease Agreement with Kompost Kids, Inc. for 41,031.71 square feet of land at 1980 S. Marina Drive.
BODY
Whereas, Kompost Kids, Inc. and the Port of Milwaukee have agreed to a two-year two month term commencing February 1, 2018 and terminating on April 30, 2020; and
Whereas, Kompost Kids, Inc. will use the property for community composting of food waste and public education regarding this activity, storage of related equipment, and garden beds; and
Whereas, The Board of Harbor Commissioners at their meeting of December 14, 2017 acted by vote of the Board to grant such Lease Agreement; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said Common Council hereby ratifies and approves the Lease Agreement between Kompost Kids, Inc. and the City of Milwaukee, by and through its Board of Harbor Commissioners for the period of February 1, 2018 through April 30, 2020; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the designated officers of said government and of said Board of Harbor Commissioners are hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement to carry out this purpose, as prepared by the City Attorney's office.
