Title
Substitute resolution relating to accepting and authorizing a rental agreement with the State of Wisconsin Health Services Department to lease space at the Northwest Health Center.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes entry of the City of Milwaukee into a rental agreement with the State of Wisconsin Health Services Department, which will occupy space at the City of Milwaukee building, Northwest Health Center, for the purpose of providing assistance to underinsured and uninsured clients who may be eligible for medical assistance under State of Wisconsin programs.
Body
Whereas, A rental agreement has been negotiated between the City of Milwaukee Health Department and the State of Wisconsin Health Services Department providing the State of Wisconsin Health Services Department with space at the Northwest Health Center, 7630 West Mill Road, Milwaukee; and

Whereas, The rental agreement provides that the State of Wisconsin Health Services Department shall pay a monthly amount in rent to the City of Milwaukee for a 9-month period and shall also pay quarterly payments for security, telephone and custodial costs; and

Whereas, The agreement provides that the City of Milwaukee Health Department shall administer the rental agreement for the State of Wisconsin Human Services Division at the Northwest Health Center which is a location convenient to and accessible to residents of the City in need of health services; and

Whereas, Extending coverage under State of Wisconsin-sponsored medical assistance programs provides the City with increased opportunities for reimbursement for health services provided to underinsured and uninsured residents; and

Whereas, The rental agreement provides the City of Milwaukee with adequate protections, including indemnification and appropriate insurance coverage; and

Whereas, The rental agreement may be extended upon further agreement of both parties; now...
