Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Health Policy Initiative from the Kellogg Foundation.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Health Policy Initiative from the Kellogg Foundation in the amount of $50,000 provided by the grantor. The purpose of the grant is to advance a community driven policy agenda to reduce health disparities in children and families in Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Kellogg Foundation in this health policy initiative; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 03/01/09 to 12/31/09 would cost $50,000 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Kellogg Foundation is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2009 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Funds, the following amount for the project titled Health Policy Initiative from the Kellogg Foundation:
