Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $171,000 with the total cost estimated to be $4,216,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
4th Aldermanic District
Alley north of W. Highland Ave. - Old World Third St. to 170 feet west of Old World Third St. (SM495170068): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $57,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.
N. Plankinton Ave. - W. Wells St. to W. Kilbourn Ave. (SM495170064): Relaying Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $49,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
