Substitute resolution relative to legislative bills.

Whereas, The Judiciary and Legislation Committee of the Common Council has recommended the following positions on the bills hereinafter listed and the Common Council being advised of said matters; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it hereby approves the following legislative bill and instructs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to appear before the proper committees to support such bill and use its best endeavors to have the same enacted into law, viz:

AB-507/SB-414 Relating to: allowing minors to operate temporary stands without a permit or license.

Further Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee is opposed to the following legislative bill and hereby instructs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to appear before the proper committees in opposition and use its best endeavors in opposition to the same viz:

LRB-4367/LRB-4368 Relating to: changes affecting a first class city board of fire and police commissioners, chiefs, officers, and fire fighters, police and fire departments and boards of police and fire commissioners in other cities, villages, and certain towns, veterans preference points awarded by first class cities, and granting rule-making authority.

Further Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee hereby directs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to appear before the proper committees to watch and report on the following bill:

AB-479/SB-387 Relating to: limiting the authority of local governments to regulate development on substandard lots and require the merging of lots; requiring a political subdivision to issue a conditional use permit under certain circumstances; standards for granting certain zoning variances; local ordinances related to repair, rebuilding, and maintenance of certain nonconform...
