Resolution approving Revision #2 to the 2017 Capital Fund Program Grant and its submission to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development

Body
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) received the 2017 Capital Fund Program Grant from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) effective 8/16/2017 in the amount or $6,071,406; and
WHEREAS, only 25% of the Capital Fund Program grant may be used for “operations” (section 9(e)(1)(C) of the 1937 Act) unless HUD approves a waiver; and
WHEREAS, HACM submitted a waiver to HUD dated July 31, 2017 to use 33.23% of HACM’s 2017 Capital Fund Program grant for operations because of crime and drug activity at its public housing developments; and
WHEREAS, HUD approved this waiver request on August 21, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Revision #2 reflects the increase to 33.23%, or $2,017,528, of the 2017 Capital Fund Program grant for operations (BLI 1406); now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee approve revision #2 to the 2017 Capital Fund Program grant and its submission to HUD; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary-Executive Director is hereby authorized and directed to submit Revision #2 to the 2017 Capital Fund Program grant to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
