Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install two new traffic control signal at the intersections of North Broadway and North Water Street and at North Milwaukee Street and North Water Street in the 3^rd Aldermanic District using City funds at an estimated cost of $170,000.

Body

Whereas, The traffic volumes at the intersections of North Broadway and North Water Street and at North Milwaukee Street and North Water Street exceed federal warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for the installation of traffic control signals; and

Whereas, The installation of traffic control signals at the intersections of North Broadway and North Water Street and at North Milwaukee Street and North Water Street will provide for a better exchange of right-of-way over the existing stop control; and

Whereas, The estimated cost of the installation of two traffic control signals is $170,000 using funds from Tax Incremental District Number 48, Park East; and

Whereas, The installation of two traffic control signals at the intersections of North Broadway and North Water Street and at North Milwaukee Street and North Water Street is scheduled for fall 2017; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to install a new traffic control at the two intersections on North Water Street at North Broadway and North Milwaukee Street using City funds.
