Resolution relating to allocating funds for the 2009 Recreation Facilities Construction Program in various Aldermanic Districts.
Analysis
This resolution would allocate funds for the 2009 Recreation Facilities Construction Program for Buildings and Fleet Services.

Body
Whereas, An appropriation of $300,000 for neighborhood recreation facilities is included in the 2009 Permanent Improvement Budget of the City of Milwaukee, based on a detailed recommendation of the Recreational Facilities Unit of Buildings and Fleet Services; and

Whereas, This recommended report was prepared with the cooperation and advice of the Department of Schools and Community Services of the Board of School Directors; and

Whereas, It is in the best interests of the City to prepare the plans, purchase materials, and do other work necessary for the improvement of these recreation facilities as quickly as possible to ensure early construction during 2009; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and hereby is authorized and directed to proceed with the construction of the recreation facilities under the 2009 Capital Improvements Program, using City forces wherever the best interests of the City will be served, or letting contracts for the work if in the best interests of the City, with the cost of such work to be charged to the respective recreation facility fund provided for that purpose; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller be and hereby is authorized and directed to make allocations from Account PR111000000 - Playground Construction 2009, to the recreation facility accounts of the Capitol Improvements Fund in the amounts as hereinafter stated:
