Minutes note: SB-408 (LRB-2337) Relating to: furnishing, purchasing, or possessing a firearm for a person who is prohibited from possessing a firearm, mandatory minimum sentences for individuals who commit certain firearm violations, and providing criminal penalties. Ald. Kovac came to the table on this item. Motion by Ald. Bauman to support except reserving support for the mandatory minumum aspect. One objection (Ald. Murpjhy voating "no") VOTE: AB-495/SB-405 (LRB-3320) Relating to: providing evidence in defense of a claim for excessive assessment. Motion by Ald. Bauman to support. No objections. VOTE: AB-400 Patronizing a prostitute and providing a criminal penalty. Motion by Ald. Bauman to suppport. No objectons VOTE: AB-435 Relating to: prostitution crime surcharge and making appropriations. Motion by Ald. Bauman to support. No objections. Title

Substitute resolution relative to legislative bills.

Body

Whereas, The Judiciary and Legislation Committee of the Common Council has recommended the following position on the bill hereinafter listed and the Common Council being advised of said matter; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it hereby approves the following legislative bill and instructs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to appear before the proper committees to support such bills and use its best endeavors to have the same enacted into law, viz:

 

SB-408 (LRB-2337)

Relating to: furnishing, purchasing, or possessing a firearm for a person who is prohibited from possessing a firearm, mandatory minimum sentences for individuals who commit certain firearm violations, and providing criminal penalties.
