Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File Number 161221 to extend the deadline for the Joint Committee on Redevelopment of Abandoned and Foreclosed Homes to report its recommendations for improving the City’s policies and practices for collecting code-compliance fines and property taxes owed on properties owned by limited liability companies 6 months to December 31, 2017.

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 161221 on January 18, 2017, assigning the task of evaluating and making recommendations for effectively addressing code-compliance deficiencies and property tax collection issues that can arise with properties owned by limited liability companies to the Joint Committee on Redevelopment of Abandoned and Foreclosed Homes; and
Whereas, The resolution directed the Joint Committee on Redevelopment of Abandoned and Foreclosed Homes to report its findings and recommendations on these matters to the Common Council no later than June 30, 2017; and
Whereas, The Joint Committee on Redevelopment of Abandoned and Foreclosed Homes is still evaluating and analyzing these matters; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 161221 is amended by replacing the final “Further Resolved” clause with the following:
“Further Resolved, That the Joint Committee on Redevelopment of Abandoned and Foreclosed Homes shall report its findings and recommendations on these matters to the Common Council not later than December 31, 2017.”
