Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City Attorney to, by amendment, extend the collection contract for receivables of the City of Milwaukee by one year, to expire on December 31, 2018.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee entered into a contract with the Kohn Law Firm for the collection of City receivables, to expire December 31, 2017; and
Whereas, The Office of the City Treasurer is currently in the process of replacing the legacy, mainframe computer tax collection system and believes that it would be prudent to extend the current contract with the Kohn Law Firm for another year to insure a smooth transition to the new computer system and to coordinate the expiration of multiple collection contracts at the end of 2018 pursuant to the outstanding debt workgroup recommendations; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the City Attorney is authorized to, by amendment, extend the collection contract for the receivables of the City of Milwaukee by one year, to expire on December 31, 2018.
