Title

Resolution authorizing settlement of the claims of various food processors and manufacturers for $30,000.

Analysis

This Resolution authorizes settlement of the claims of thirteen (13) food processors in an amount totaling $30,000.00. The amounts to be paid to each individual claimant can be found in Exhibit A.

Body

Whereas, the thirteen (13) claimants listed in Exhibit A have filed claims against the City of Milwaukee in the amount of $260,478; and

 

Whereas, The City has agreed to settle the claims in the aggregate amount of $30,000; and

 

Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay these claims; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that proper city officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $30,000.00, payable to the order of Maistelman & Associates IOLTA Trust Account, 8989 N Port Washington Rd., Ste. 221, in full and final payment of these claims, upon receipt of a release of claim from each individual claimant, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to the 2017 City Attorney’s Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 0001-1490-S118-006300.
