Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Canal Street and West Roundhouse Road in the 8th Aldermanic District with funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund at an estimated cost of $100,000.
Body
Whereas, The traffic volumes at the intersection of West Canal Street and West Roundhouse Road exceed federal warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for the installation of a traffic control signal; and
Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of West Canal Street and West Roundhouse Road will provide for a better exchange of right-of-way over the existing stop control; and
Whereas, The estimated cost of the installation of a traffic control signal is $100,000 and is included in the Department of Public Works traffic signal capital fund approved under Common Council File Number 161187; and
Whereas, The installation of a traffic control signal at West Canal Street and West Roundhouse Road is scheduled for fall 2017; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to install a new traffic control signal at the intersection of West Canal Street and West Roundhouse Road using funding from the Department of Public Works capital fund.
