Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a project agreement titled “Cost Sharing Agreement Between Marquette University High School and the City of Milwaukee“ for the cost of installing traffic calming devices on West Michigan Street between North 32nd Street and North 35th Street in the 4th Aldermanic District with the total estimated cost of $32,000 of which the City’s share is 0.

Body

Whereas, Marquette University High School has requested traffic calming devices adjacent to their campus on West Michigan Street; and

Whereas, Usually the adjacent property owners are assessed a portion of the cost of this work; and

Whereas, Marquette University High School has agreed to pay all of the cost for these items, thus eliminating the special assessments for the adjacent property owners; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will be the lead agency of the project design and the bidding process; and

Whereas, These project is programmed for construction in 2017; and

Whereas, Funding for the construction phase of the traffic calming speed hump project was included in resolution 170020 (ST214170105) ($7,000);

Whereas, Funding for the construction phase of the traffic calming speed table project was included in resolution 170020 (ST214170106)($25,000);

 now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public works is hereby authorized to execute the project agreement titled “Cost Sharing Agreement Between the City of Milwaukee and Marquette University High School” for the cost sharing of the traffic calming devices on West Michigan Street between North 32nd Street and North 35th Street, copies of which are attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 170280, and are incorporated by reference as though set forth in full.
