Analysis

This ordinance:

1.  Changes the fee for filing a certified survey map from $230 to $260.

2.  Changes the fee for filing a cemetery or residential preliminary or final plat from $375 to $405.

3.  Changes the fee for filing a plat or map correction instrument from $20 to $50.

4.  Eliminates the requirement that applicants for final certified survey maps, cemetery or residential plats, or plat or map correction instruments provide separate checks made payable to the Milwaukee County register of deeds.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1.  Section 81-19-1 of the code is amended to read:

81-19.  Certified Survey Map Filing Fee.

1.  The fee for each certified survey map shall be [[$230]] >>$260<< .

Part 2.  Section 81-96 of the code is amended to read:

81-96.  Plat Filing Fee.  The nonrefundable filing fee for submission of any cemetery or residential preliminary or final plat shall be [[$375]] >>$405<< .

Part 3.  Section 81-97 of the code is amended to read:

81-97.  Plat or Map Correction Instrument.  The nonrefundable fee for filing each plat or map correction instrument shall be [[$20]] >>$50<< .

Part 4.  Section 119-4-1 of the code is amended to read:

119-4.  Application.

1.  FEES.  No submittal of a final subdivision plat or final certified survey map, except those originated by city or county agencies, shall be recommended for approval until the filing fee required by ss. 81-19, 81-96 or 81-97 has been provided by the subdivider.  [[The submission of final plats, final certified survey maps or correction instrument shall include a check or draft payable to the register of deeds for Milwaukee County for the recording fee.  Such check or draft shall be held by the department until final adoption by the council.]]
