Analysis:
After completing all salary and wage transactions for 2016, $680,368 remains in the special purpose account-wages supplement fund. This became known after adoption of the annual carryover resolution by the Common Council.
Body:
Whereas, The Special Purpose Account Wages Supplement Fund has a 2016 balance of $680,368; and
Whereas, Carrying these funds over into 2017 would provide more flexibility in dealing with salary and wage issues that could arise in 2017 in accordance with Section 65.07(1)(p), Wisconsin Statutes; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that it hereby authorizes and directs the City Comptroller to carry over $680,368 or remaining balance from the Special Purpose Account-Wages Supplement Fund from 2016 to 2017; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the department affected by this resolution is hereby authorized to expend the carried over funds in accordance with the intent of the original appropriations.
