Title:
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a 2017 Homeland Security/Southeast Wisconsin Threat Analysis Center Integrated Video System Sustainment Project Grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Homeland Security STAC Integrated Video System Sustainment Project grant from the U.S. Department of Justice through the State of Wisconsin, Department of Military Affairs (DMA), in the amount of $130,000 with a city share of $0, and a grantor share of $130,000. The purpose of this funding is to upgrade the Fusion Center’s system infrastructure, including cabling, associated connectors, key hardware, and aging malfunctioning video monitors.
Body:
Whereas, Under CFDA 97.067, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice through the State of Wisconsin DMA; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 1/01/17 to 12/31/17 would cost $130,000, 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That, the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2017 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: Southeast Wisconsin Threat Analysis Center grant.
