Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $1,471,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,046,000.

Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,471,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $2,046,000.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

1st Aldermanic District

 

N. Green Bay Ave. - N. 13th St. to W. Congress St. (SM495160083) File Number 160914:  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $106,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $118,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

2nd Aldermanic District

 

N. 67th St. - W. Glendale Ave. to W. Courtland Ave. (WT410170641) File Number 151848:  Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $210,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $225,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

4th Aldermanic District

 

The Brewery Phase II, additional funds to complete contract.  (ST211170198) (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $40,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $40,000.  This project was completed in the 2010.

 

The Brewery Phase IV, additional funds to complete contract.  (ST211170199):  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $140,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $140,000.  This project was completed in 2015.

 

N. Jackson St. - E. Buffalo St. to E. St. Paul Ave. (SM495160089) File Number 161153:  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $52,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $62,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

N. Jackson St. - E. Mason St. to E. Wells St. (SM495160082) File Number 160914:  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $123,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $135,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

N. James Lovell St. - 215 feet south of W. State St. to W. State St. (SM495160062) File Number 160412:  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $90,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $100,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

E. Mason St. - N. Jefferson St. to N. Van Buren St. (SM495160081) File Number 160914:  Combined sewer relay and lining.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $87,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $97,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

W. Wells St. - N. 6th St. to N. 8th St. (SM495160055) File Number 160263:  Combined sewer lining.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $230,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $245,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

5th Aldermanic District

 

North 92nd Street Bioswales:  N. 92nd St. - W. Capitol Dr. to W. Hampton Ave. (SM499160106) File Number 160798:  (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $22,000, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $82,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

10th Aldermanic District

 

W. Juneau Ave. - 200 feet west of N. 46th St. to 315 feet west of N. 46th St. (SM495160080) File Number 160797:  Storm sewer lining.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $21,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $31,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

14th Aldermanic District

 

S. Chase Ave. - W. Lincoln Ave. to 200 feet m/l south of W. Lincoln Ave. (SM495150043) File Number 150118:  Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $210,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $225,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

City Wide

 

Work done by Contractors-Sewer Alterations (WT410160770) File Number 160590:  Alterations.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $1,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $49,000, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $150,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2016-2017 construction season.

 

2017 Crackfilling by contract (ST211170185) File Number 161563:  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $90,000, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $396,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
