Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a project agreement title “Cost Sharing Memo of Understanding Between the City of Milwaukee and the City of Wauwatosa” for the cost sharing of the replacement of ADA curb ramps as necessary on North 60th Street from West Vliet Street to West Center Street and North 100th Street from West Keefe Avenue to West Lisbon Avenue  in the 5th and10th Aldermanic Districts with a total estimated cost of $1,900,000, of which the City’s share is $1,874,500 and the City of Wauwatosa’s share is $25,500.

Whereas, ADA ramps are required to be upgraded to current design criteria when a street is improved, and

Whereas, The projects are included in the Department of Public Works High Impact Resurface Program; and

Whereas, The Cities of Milwaukee and Wauwatosa share jurisdiction ownership of the roadway and will share the ramp construction costs; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will be the lead agency of the project design and construction; and

Whereas, This projects are programmed for construction in 2017; and

Whereas, Funding for the construction phase of the project is included in resolution 170020 (ST214170104); now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public works is hereby authorized to execute the project agreement titled “Cost Sharing Memo of Understanding Between the City of Milwaukee and the City of Wauwatosa” for the cost sharing of the rehabilitation of North 60th Street between West Vliet Street to West Center Street, and North 100^th Street from West Keefe Avenue to West Lisbon Avenue  in the 5 th and10th Aldermanic Districts  copies of which are attached to Common Council Resolution File Number 170022, and are incorporated by reference as though set forth in full.
