Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a State of Wisconsin Coastal Management Program Grant, in the 8th, 11th, 13th and 14th Aldermanic Districts.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of City Development, to apply for, accept and fund a Wisconsin Coastal Management Program Grant from the State of Wisconsin in the amount of $100,000 with a City Share of $75,000 and a Grantor Share of $25,000. The purpose of this grant is to hire a consultant(s) to complete portions of the Southwest Side Area Plan. The City Share will come from the Department of City Development, Capital Improvements, Advance Planning Fund.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee (“City”) appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin for hiring a consultant(s) to complete portions of the Southwest Side Area Plan; and

Whereas, The operation of this Wisconsin Coastal Management Program Grant from June 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010 will cost $100,000 of which, $75,000 (75 percent) will be provided by the City and $25,000 (25 percent) will be provided by the Grantor; and

Whereas, It appears that City involvement in this grant and aid program will result in the following major benefit to the City--a Southwest Side Area Comprehensive Plan; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of City Development shall apply for and accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon approval of this grant, the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Transfer to these accounts the additional amount required under the grant and City accounting policy, but not to exceed a 10 percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the Grantor’s Share and Local Share of $5,000, whichever is greater, as follows:
