Analysis

This ordinance clarifies the current residency requirement for a precious metal and gem dealer’s license by making it consistent with the residency requirement for other licenses. It requires that an individual applicant, each of the partners or the corporate agent must have been a resident of Wisconsin continuously for at least 90 days prior to the date of application.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1.  Section 92-10-5-c of the code if repealed and recreated to read:

92-10.  Precious Metal and Gem Dealer’s License.

5.  ISSUANCE; TERMS.

c.  No precious metal and gem dealer’s license shall be granted to an individual, partnership or a corporate applicant, unless the individual applicant, each of the partners, or the corporate agent has been a resident of Wisconsin continuously for at least 90 days prior to the date of the application.
