Title
A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2017 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:
Department of Employee Relations, Health Department, Municipal Court, Police Department, Department of Public Works
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 1CX, delete the title “Court Administrator Coordinator” and add the title “Court Administrative Coordinator”.
Part 2. Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 2EX, delete the title “Benefit Services Analyst” and add the title “Benefits Services Analyst”.
Under Pay Range 2HX, add the title “ReCAST PROGRAM MANAGER (5)” with footnote to read as following:
“(5) Recruitment at any rate in the pay range with the approval of DER and the Chair of Finance.”
Under Pay Range 2IX, delete the title “ReCast Program Manager (4)”.
Under Pay Range 2MX, add the title “Substance Abuse Program Manager (4)” with the footnote to read as follows:
“(4) Position to be studied when vacant.”
Part 3. Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 - January 1, 2017):
Under Pay Range 2AN, delete the titles “Water Chemist I” and “Water Microbiologist I” and delete footnote “(1)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 2CN, delete the title “Water Chemist II” and delete footnote “(7)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 2DN, delete the title “Water Microbiologist II” and delete footnote “(5)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 2EN, delete the title “Lead Water Chemist”, add the title “Water Chemist (9)” delete footnote “(9)” and replace with the following:
“(9) Minimum recruitment is $1,810.00 ($47,060) and may be at any rate in the pay range with the approval of DER.”
Under Pay Range 2FN, add the title “Water Microbiologist (10)”.
Under Pay Range 2GN, add the title “Lead Water Chemist (11)” and add footnote “(11)” to read as follows:
“(11) Minimum recruitment is $2,114.62 ($54,980.12) and may be at any rate in the pay range with the approval of DER.”
Under Pay Range 2HN, add the title “Water Chemist Project Leader (15)” and add footnote “(15)” to read as follows:
“(15) Minimum recruitment is $2,254.16 ($58,608.16) and may be at any rate in the pay range with the approval of DER.”
Part 4. Part 1, Section 4 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Ranges 4G-831, 4I-835, 4L-836, 4N-839, and 4P-842; under the “Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 (January 1, 2017)” sections, correct the effective date in all the footnotes to reflect the year “2017”.
Part 5. Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 7CN, delete “Career Ladder Position in Forestry” in footnote “(7)”.
Part 6. Part 1, Section 8 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 8DN, delete footnote “(10)” in its entirety and replace as follows:
“(10) The following employees to be paid the rate of $1,598.64 biweekly: Chris Shiltz, Michael Brahm, and James Kendzierski.”
Part 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 8. The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2017 (January 1, 2017).
The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
Part 9. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
