Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute revised project agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, and construction of North 91^st Street from West Mill Road to West Good Hope Road, West Greenfield Avenue from South 35^th Street to South Cesar Chavez Drive, West Vliet Street from North 27^th Street to North 12^th Street, and North Teutonia Avenue from West Garfield Avenue to West Groeling Avenue with State and Federal aid under the Surface Transportation Program.

Body

Whereas, Project agreements have been executed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of Milwaukee for the improvement of North 91^st Street from West Mill Road to West Good Hope Road, West Greenfield Avenue from South 35^th Street to South Cesar Chavez Drive, West Vliet Street from North 27^th Street to North 12^th Street, and North Teutonia Avenue from West Garfield Avenue to West Groeling Avenue using State and Federal aid under the Surface Transportation Program, in accordance with Common Council Resolution File Number 140427, adopted July 22, 2014; and

Whereas, The project agreements included signal improvement costs within the project limits, whose work was to be done with City of Milwaukee forces under a Local Force Account contract; and

Whereas, The City requested and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation agreed that the signal improvements be added to and undertaken with the paving contracts; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has transmitted for our signature revised project agreements, for the North 91^st Street, West Greenfield Avenue, West Vliet Street, and North Teutonia Avenue roadway improvement projects, that shifts the grant dollars from the signal portion of the agreements to the roadway improvement portion of the agreements without degradation to the overall grant funding amounts and while still undertaking the necessary signal improvements as part of the paving work let to contract; and

Whereas, Construction funds for the improvement of North 91^st Street from West Mill Road to West Good Hope Road, West Greenfield Avenue from South 35^th Street to South Cesar Chavez Drive, West Vliet Street from North 27^th Street to North 12^th Street, and North Teutonia Avenue from West Garfield Avenue to West Groeling Avenue will be set up in a separate resolution; now, therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the revised project agreements for the improvement of North 91^st Street from West Mill Road to West Good Hope Road, West Greenfield Avenue from South 35^th Street to South Cesar Chavez Drive, West Vliet Street from North 27^th Street to North 12^th Street, and North Teutonia Avenue from West Garfield Avenue to West Groeling Avenue with updated construction costs; and, be it

Further Resolved, Copies of the revised project agreements are attached to this resolution file by reference as though set forth in full.
