Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2017 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

Library, Mayor’s Office, Police Department, Department of Public Works

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 - January 1, 2017):

 

Under Pay Range 1CX, add the footnote “(2)” to read as follows: 

 

“(2)                     The incumbents of positions in this class, if certified by the Commissioner of Public Works as being, when appropriate, regularly involved in snow and ice control operations which result in an excessive amount of overtime work, to receive 4.8% additional biweekly salary as compensation for such overtime work.”

 

Under Pay Range 1FX, add footnote design “(4)” to the title of “Communications Systems Manager (2)” and add footnote “(4)” to read as follows: 

 

“(4)                     The incumbents of positions in this class, if certified by the Commissioner of Public Works as being, when appropriate, regularly involved in snow and ice control operations which result in an excessive amount of overtime work, to receive 4.8% additional biweekly salary as compensation for such overtime work.”

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 - January 1, 2017):

 

Under Pay Range 2FX, add the title “Diversity Recruiter”.

 

Under “Pay Range 2LX, add the title” Mayor’s Office Communications Director”.

 

Part 3.  Part 1, Section 4 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 - January 1, 2017):

 

Under Pay Range 4QX, replace the range as follows:

 

                     “Hourly                     46.84                     65.57

                     Biweekly                     3,746.94                     5,245.97

                     Annual                     97,420.44                     136,395.22”;

 

Delete footnote “(2)” in its entirety and replace footnote “(1)” to read as follows:

 

“(1)                      Upon implementation of this pay range effective Pay Period 1 of 2017, Inspectors Brunson and Gordon to be paid the biweekly rate of $4,977.20 and Inspector Basting to be paid the biweekly rate of $4,926.20.”

 

Under Pay Range 4RX, replace the range as follows:

 

                     “Hourly                     49.92                     69.89

                     Biweekly                     3,993.89                     5,591.58

                     Annual                     103, 841.14                     145,381.08”;                     and

 

Delete footnote designation “(1)” after the title “Assistant Police Chief” and delete footnote “(1)” in its entirety.

 

Part 4.  Part 1, Section 9 of ordinance File Number 160596 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 - January 1, 2017):

 

Under Pay Range 9CN, add the title “Teen Outreach Intern”.

 

Part 5.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 6.  The provisions of Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2017 (January 1, 2017).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 7.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
