Body
Whereas, The plaintiffs, The Catholic Mutual Relief Society of America and Blessed Savior Catholic Church, Case No. 16-CV-007142, have commenced a lawsuit against the City seeking damages of $50,000.00 for damages sustained from the rupture of a municipal water line flooding Blessed Savior Catholic School at 4059 North 64th Street on March 6, 2014; and
Whereas, A settlement favorable to all parties has been reached; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to settle this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $25,000, payable to the order of the Trust Account of Attorney Ronald W. Harmeyer, as soon as practicable, said amount to be charged to Milwaukee Water Works, Account No. 636506-0410-6411-2631-R643.
