Body
Whereas, Ms. Charnjit Kaur, owner and operator of Stark Foods, is dedicated to improving the city of Milwaukee through improved police-community relations; and
Whereas, Ms. Charnjit Kaur has generously offered to donate $2,000 to the City for programs designed to improve police-community relations in Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The Police Department's Office of Community Outreach and Education works with local community groups to create meaningful relationships with city residents; and
Whereas, The Police Department is committed to engaging more community groups and community leaders in crime reduction efforts; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept and expend a gift of up to $2,000 from Ms. Charnjit Kaur for programs designed to improve police-community relations; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Police Department shall use this donation for programs that are aimed at improving community engagement in policing efforts.
