Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council File #150991 relative to the acceptance and funding of the 2016 Sexually Transmitted Diseases Grant - HIV Prevention from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for $197,000.The purpose of the project is to reduce the incidence of AIDS/HIV in Milwaukee through preventive health education services, partner services and focused disease intervention activities.

Body

Whereas, Common Council File #150991 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the 2016 Sexually Transmitted Diseases Grant - HIV Prevention from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for $197,000; and

Whereas, the total expenditures of this program has been increased by $24,500 to a total of $221,500 of which all is provided by the grantor; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/16 to 12/31/16 would now cost $221,500 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2016 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled 2016 Sexually Transmitted Diseases Grant-HIV Prevention:
