Title

Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $96,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $3,362,810.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $96,000 with the total cost estimated to be $3,362,810.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

7th Aldermanic District

 

W. Roosevelt Dr. (North Side) - 95 feet west of N. 44th St. to N. 44th St. (SM495160087):  Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $46,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

N. 51st Blvd. (4500N) over Lincoln Creek (BR100120106):  Bridge replacement design.  (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund -- $45,000, Additional Funds) (File Number 151848).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $2,558,810.  This engineering is anticipated to be completed during the 2017.

 

11th Aldermanic District

 

W. Lincoln Ave. - Union Pacific Railroad Right of Way to S. 61st St. (Sponsored by the City of West Allis) (ST216170101):  Placing an asphalt overlay on the existing pavement at the following location.  (Nonassessable High Impact Streets -- $20,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $100,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

2017 Sanitary Manhole Inspection Project (SM494160203):  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $5,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $125,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

2017 Sanitary Manhole Rehabilitation (SM494160204):  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $500,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

 

2017 Sewer Structures Inspection Project (SM495160021):  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $1,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $33,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2017 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
