Analysis

This ordinance creates an exempted area encompassing the 10^th Aldermanic District which permits vehicles parked in areas already designated as exempt from alternate side parking regulations to be parked for 48 hours in the same location rather than 24 hours, except when the department of public works announces snow-plowing operations or other public works operations are underway. Vehicles parked in the exempted area are also prohibited, per existing ordinance, from parking in the exempted area from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following day during a DPW-announced public works operation rather than 2:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m.

The exempted area boundary, beginning at the south terminus of N. 44^th Street, extends north to Interstate 94, east to N. 35^th St., north to W. Wisconsin Ave., west to Menomonee River, northwest along the railroad right-of-way to W. Highland Blvd., west to W. Vliet St., west to Wisconsin Hwy 175, north to W. Washington Blvd., west to N. 47^th St., north to W. Lloyd St., west to N. 51^st St., north to W. Burleigh St., west to N. 53^rd St., north to W. Concordia Ave., west to N. 54^th St., north to W. Keefe Ave., west to N. 60^th St., north to W. Melvina St., west to N. 67^th St., north to W. Capitol Dr., west to N.76^th St. and south to the city limits and continuing along the city limits to the point of beginning.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 101-27-1-a-2-i of the code is created to read:

101-27. All Night Parking.

1. RESTRICTIONS.

a-2-i. N. 44^th St. from its south terminus, including a line south to the city limits, Interstate 94, N. 35^th St., W. Wisconsin Ave., Menomonee River northwest to the railroad right-of-way, W. Highland Blvd., W. Vliet St., Wisconsin Hwy 175, W. Washington Blvd., N. 47^th St., W. Lloyd St., N. 51^st St., W. Burleigh St., N. 53^rd St., W. Concordia Ave., N. 54^th St., W. Keefe Ave., N. 60^th St., W. Melvina St., N. 67^th St., W. Capitol Dr., N.76^th St. south to the city limits and continuing along the city limits to the point of beginning, and exempted from alternate side parking by sub. 3-b-1.
