Resolution authorizing the issuance of a street occupancy permit to Findorff for work at the Westin Hotel Project at North Van Buren Street north of West Clybourn Street and south of West Michigan Street.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to Findorff allowing them to occupy easterly two traffic lanes of North Van Buren Street north of West Clybourn Street and south of West Michigan Street.
Body
Whereas, Findorrf has been contracted to construct the Westin Hotel at 550 North Van Buren Street, including replacing the water main in North Van Buren Street; and
Whereas, Findorff has requested to occupy the easterly traffic lanes of North Van Buren Street north of West Clybourn Street and south of West Michigan Street from October 24, 2016 through May 31, 2017; and
Whereas, Findorff will be responsible maintaining two lanes of northbound traffic open for the duration of the partial closure; and
Whereas, Findorff will be responsible to contact all affected property owners and businesses informing them of the partial closure of the street and the affected dates; and
Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the width of the right of way while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to issue a permit to Findorff allowing occupancy of the easterly two traffic lanes of North Van Buren Street north of West Clybourn Street and south of West Michigan Street from October 24, 2016 through May 31, 2017; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Findorff is also permitted to occupy the easterly sidewalk area on North Van Buren Street north of West Clybourn Street and south of West Michigan Street.
