Title

Analysis

This resolution directs the City Attorney to amend the City’s contracts with debt collection vendors used by the Fire Department, the Municipal Court and the Department of Public Works-Parking to all expire on December 31, 2018. The resolution also directs the City Attorney to amend these contracts to permit referring certain debts to the State for collection.

Body

Whereas, The Outstanding Debt Work Group has recommended that the City’s contracts with debt collection vendors used by the Fire Department, the Municipal Court and the Department of Public Works-Parking all expire on December 31, 2018, in order to obtain the most advantageous proposals and achieve administrative efficiencies; and

 

Whereas, The Outstanding Debt Work Group has further recommended that the City’s contracts with debt collection vendors be amended to permit referring certain debts to the State for collection; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Attorney shall amend the City’s contracts with debt collection vendors used by the Fire Department, the Municipal Court and the Department of Public Works-Parking as needed to all expire on December 31, 2018; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, The City Attorney shall amend the City’s contracts with debt collection vendors to permit referring certain debts to the State for collection.
