Title
Substitute resolution relating to the recommendations of the Outstanding Debt Work Group.
Analysis
This resolution directs all City departments affected by recommendations included in the Outstanding Debt Work Group’s written report to take all necessary actions required to implement and comply with the report’s recommendations, and to report progress to the Common Council at regular intervals not to exceed 6 months for a period of 3 years.

Whereas, The Outstanding Debt Work Group (Work Group) established by the Common Council with the adoption of File Number 151687 on March 29, 2016, to study the City’s policies and practices for collecting delinquent taxes, forfeitures, judgments and fees owed to the City has submitted a written report of its findings and recommendations to the Common Council; and
Whereas, The Work Group’s written report contains numerous recommendations on ways City departments can improve policies and practices for collecting delinquent taxes, forfeitures, judgments and fees owed the City; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the departments of the Parking Fund, City Attorney, City Treasurer, Department of Neighborhood Services, Comptroller, Municipal Court, Fire Department, Police Department, Department of Administration-Budget and Management Division, Department of Administration-Intergovernmental Relations Division and City Clerk-Legislative Reference Bureau, as well as any other relevant City departments, shall take all necessary actions required to implement and comply with the recommendations contained in the Outstanding Debt Work Group’s written report submitted to the Common Council on October 24, 2016; and, be it
