Analysis
This resolution establishes All Things in Common as a citywide program. This initiative provides assistance to residents at approximately 25 churches throughout the city. These community resource hubs provide group-based mentoring services, driver’s license recovery, child support mediation, referrals to City services, in-kind resources provided by philanthropic partners, and other services.

Whereas, Many families in Milwaukee are in need of services and programs to help them with challenging circumstances; and
Whereas, Many families in need experience difficulty traveling downtown to access services provided by the City or other organizations; and
Whereas, Several churches throughout the city have volunteered to provide services and serve as community resource hubs for residents in need of help; and
Whereas, Participating sites are scattered throughout the city; and
Whereas, Services offered include group-based mentoring, referrals to City services, in-kind resources provided by philanthropic partners, driver’s license recovery, child support mediation, and other critical services; and
Whereas, The partnership between the City and the churches is part of the “All Hands Call” public safety effort announced by the Common Council May 31, 2016; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that All Things in Common is established as a citywide program.
