Title:

Substitute resolution authorizing acceptance and expenditure of a National Endowment for the Arts grant for the use of the MKE Plays program.

Analysis:

This resolution authorizes the acceptance and expenditure of the National Endowment for the Arts grants to support the MKE Plays Program. 

                  

Body:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has been awarded grant funds from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the MKE Plays Program; and

                                          

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 08/01/2016 to 08/31/2017 would cost $101,560 of which $50,920 would be match funds, $640 in-kind and $50,000 would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Community Development Grants Administration shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.                     Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2016 Special Revenue- Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the program titled: "MKE Plays Program":

2.                     Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels: budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and

 

3.  Establish the necessary City Share Project Values; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Community Development

Grants Administration which is authorized to:

                                          

1.                     Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the

grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;

 

2.  Expend from the 2016 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment;

 

3.  Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget.
