Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to McGuire Contractors allowing occupancy of the 60 southerly feet of the north/south alley in the block bound by North Edison Street, East Knapp Street Avenue, North Water Street, and East Juneau Avenue.
Body
Whereas, McGuire Contractors has been contracted by the property owner of 144 East Juneau Avenue to complete masonry work on the structure; and
Whereas, The work will be completed between the dates of August 1, 2016 and October 7, 2016; and
Whereas, McGuire Contractors has requested to occupy the 60 southerly feet of the north/south alley in the block bound by North Edison Street, East Knapp Street Avenue, North Water Street, and East Juneau Avenue between August 1, 2016 and October 7, 2016; and
Whereas, McGuire Contractors will be responsible to contact all affected property owners and businesses informing them of the closure of the alley and the affected dates; and
Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the width of the right of way while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to issue a permit to McGuire allowing occupancy of the 60 southerly feet of the north/south alley in the block bound by North Edison Street, East Knapp Street Avenue, North Water Street, and East Juneau Avenue between August 1, 2016 and October 7, 2016.
