Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Superintendent of the Milwaukee Water Works to accept a gift of up to $2,300 from the Anthony Busalacchi family to cover the cost to purchase and install a replacement bench and concrete slab on Milwaukee Water Works property near the North Point Tower.

Body

Whereas, The Anthony Busalacchi family has asked to dedicate a lakefront-area park bench to Patricia (Pat) Busalacchi on the occasion of her 80^th birthday; and

Whereas, The Busalacchi family has been in Milwaukee since 1893; and

Whereas, Tony and Pat have been married for almost 60 years, have spent virtually all of that time living in Milwaukee, have raised their family here; and next year marks the 50^th anniversary of their volunteering on the Lake Park 4^th of July Committee; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Water Works maintains four park benches on the property near the North Point Tower which are in disrepair and are to be replaced “in kind” by the Milwaukee Water Works; and

Whereas, The Anthony Busalacchi family has asked to cover the cost of one bench, concrete slab and installation totaling approximately $2,300 and to procure at their expense a cast bronze plaque with a message approved by the Milwaukee Water Works to dedicate the bench to Pat Busalacchi; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Water Works requests the authorization to accept this gift for this purpose; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Water Works Superintendent is authorized to accept this gift for the purpose of replacing and dedicating the bench on Milwaukee Water Works property at the North Point Tower.
