Title
Resolution of the City of Milwaukee adopting the Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ADA Coordinator and Grievance Procedure Under the ADA.

Analysis
This resolution adopts the Notice Under the ADA and the Grievance Procedure Under ADA in compliance with the executed Settlement Agreement between the U.S. of America and the City of Milwaukee in response to the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division’s Disability Rights Section compliance review of the City’s compliance with certain Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Title II requirements.

Body
Whereas, The Federal government enacted the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) to prevent discrimination of the physically and mentally disabled relating to employment and access to public facilities; and

Whereas, In compliance with Title II of the ADA the City of Milwaukee shall name an ADA Coordinator; and

Whereas, In compliance with Title II of the ADA the City of Milwaukee shall adopt the Notice Under the ADA; and

Whereas, In compliance with Title II of the ADA the City of Milwaukee shall publish in the Daily Reporter the ADA Coordinator’s name, office address, and telephone number along with the Notice Under ADA; and

Whereas, In compliance with Title II of the ADA the City of Milwaukee shall post the ADA coordinator’s name, office address, and telephone number along with the Notice Under the ADA and Grievance Procedure Under the ADA in conspicuous locations in its public buildings; and

Whereas, In compliance with Title II of the ADA the City of Milwaukee shall post the ADA coordinator’s name, office address, and telephone number along with the Notice Under the ADA and Grievance Procedure Under the ADA on its website; now, therefore, be it
