Minutes note: Appearing: Emily Mckeown - DNS Karen Taylor - DCD Jim Klajbor - Treas Amos Mietz NOT PRESENT The Department of City Development objects to the vacation of the judgement for the property located at 165 North 66th Street: The property has been a neighborhood nuisance for the past several years. It has 5 open code violations and has been on monthly reinspection fees since 2007. The Milwaukee Police Department has two reports relating to the property: March 12, 2012 for battery and March 14, 2015 for use of a dangerous weapon both reports are for the current occupants. The Department of Neighborhood Services does not object to the request provided the applicant pays Reinspection Fees of $2,737.80 2014-2015 Taxes if paid in September $17,813.29 If paid by October 20, 2016 $18,031.87 Other properties owned by applicant: 9336 W Dixon St paid in full Ald. Murphy said that there were letter received from constituants in opposition to the return of this property.

Body
Whereas, The property located at 165 N. 66th Street, previously owned by Amos D. Mietz, has delinquent taxes for 2014-2015 and was foreclosed upon pursuant to Sec. 75.521, Wis. Stats., and a fee simple absolute was obtained in favor of the City of Milwaukee dated July 11, 2016 160572; and

Whereas, Amos D. Mietz would like to reclaim said property by paying all City and County real estate taxes, plus accrued interest and penalties to date of payment, and all costs as sustained by the City in the foreclosing and management of said property since July 11, 2016; and

Whereas, Amos D. Mietz has agreed to pay all related city charges up until the point that the property is returned, as well as all charges and conditions which are detailed in the letters submitted by the Department of Neighborhood Services, Department of City Development, the Health Department and the Treasurer’s Office, as though set forth in this resolution; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that in order to return the property at 165 N. 66th Street, a cashier's check must be submitted in the amount indicated by the City Treasurer within thirty (30) calendar days of the adoption of this resolution; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Attorney is then authorized to enter into a stipulation with the former owner to reopen and vacate the City's judgment in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Case No 16CV-2331. Known as the 2016-2 In Rem Parcel 185, securing the court's order and recording said order with the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds; and, be it
