Title

Resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Westlawn Relocation Plan

Body

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) received a Choice Neighborhood Implementation grant to assist in the redevelopment of the Westlawn neighborhood; and,

WHEREAS, the redevelopment will includes the demolition of the buildings on the west side of the Westlawn Housing Development, which will require the relocation of existing residents; and,

WHEREAS, the Westlawn Relocation Plan (the Plan) incorporates guidelines from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to HACM on how to undertake the relocation efforts; and,

WHEREAS, the Plan informs residents and the public on how HACM plans to undertake the relocation efforts and includes eligibility for assistance and the process for appeals; and

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority Board approved the Relocation Plan on August 10, 2016; and

WHEREAS, staff are recommending an administrative change to the relocation plan that would change the gap payments to eligible residents from quarterly to monthly; and

WHEREAS staff are recommending that these types of administrative changes and any revisions needed to comply with regulatory changes be approved by the Secretary-Executive Director; now; therefore be it

RESOLVED, by the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that the Westlawn Relocation Plan will be revised to reflect monthly gap payments; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that any administrative changes to the plan that are not policy changes or changes to the plan that result from changes in regulatory requirements be approved by the Secretary-Executive Director; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that all acts previously performed, relative to this matter, by the Commissioners and the Secretary-Executive Director of the Authority, be and hereby are approved, ratified, and confirmed in all respects.
