Resolution approving a revision to the Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher) Administrative Plan

Body
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) administers the federally-funded Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program; and
WHEREAS, HACM previously approved charging a processing fee allowing a third inspection to verify Housing Quality Standards (HQS) compliance for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher; and
WHEREAS, HACM’s Housing Choice Voucher program inspects dwelling units at least biennially, to determine if the unit meets HQS. The program will conduct two inspections to determine compliance. If repairs are not completed and are the property owner’s responsibility, a third inspection was allowed with a $50.00 processing fee paid by the owner; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to a HUD Financial Management Review, the Housing Authority is discontinuing assessing a $50 processing fee for third inspections; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that the Secretary-Executive Director is hereby authorized to discontinue the fee previously charged for a third inspection by the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
