Analysis

This resolution directs the Office of Small Business Development to negotiate and enter into a memorandum of understanding with WRTP/Big Step to act as the City’s designee to administer all aspects of the City’s First-Source Employment Program.

Body

Whereas, The City’s First-Source Employment Program, administered by the Office of Small Business Development, is a powerful tool to help employ Milwaukee residents on projects with direct City financing; and

Whereas, The Office of Small Business Development has insufficient resources and expertise to effectively administer the City’s First-Source Employment Program; and

Whereas, WRTP/BIG STEP has the capacity and expertize to effectively administer the City’s First-Source Employment Program; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Office of Small Business Development is directed to negotiate and enter into a memorandum of understanding with WRTP/Big Step to act as the City’s designee to administer all aspects of the City’s First-Source Employment Program.
